I have no intentions of a long post. The billion dollar romantic myth industry has a special day, called Valentine's Day. It is one of the most thriving economic trends with no sudden drop anytime soon. I believe romantic love is a gift from God.
The romantic myth industry though, has been a large contributor to our divorce culture. It also has no place for specialness or uniqueness for all the unattached singles who have no romantic partner.
In God's story, February 14 is not a day of the haves and have nots when it comes to uniqueness and specialness in relationships.
I don't know which gave me greater delight: choosing this lily plant for my single friend to honor her uniqueness, or having Sheila there to help me choose it!
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
